Ascom IP-DECT infrastructure service offering extended to 5 years

Research Triangle Park, NC  –  Ascom is pleased to announce enhancements to its extensive service offerings that will roll out to customers during the first half of 2010.  Ascom offers customers a wide array of services from pre-sales site survey assistance to post installation warranty and repair coverage.  Customers can feel confident that an investment made in products and solutions purchased from Ascom will be maintained and supported for many years with the enhanced service offerings provided by Ascom.


Ascom has decided to streamline the number of offerings for its Product Protection Plans (PPP) which extend the standard warranty and cover the repair and replacement of handsets.  Customers will now have the choice of two PPP offerings.  The first is called an “Extended PPP” which continues the basic repair and replacement coverage offered by the manufacturer’s standard warranty and the second is called a “Pinnacle PPP” which includes the basic coverage plus accidental and even liquid damage replacement.  


Ascom will also start offering a new “UNITE Maintenance Plan” (UMP) to replace its traditional Software Maintenance Plans (SMP).  The new UMP is designed to cover all aspects of Ascom’s UNITE application suite and related Ascom hardware.  This eliminates any ambiguity about what part of a customer’s comprehensive middleware solution is covered and the status of such coverage.


Other enhanced service offerings are planned for the first half of 2010.  Ascom will begin offering a remote monitoring package that includes the new Ascom Remote Agent (AGA) to host services such as Notification, Back-up and Restore.  This remote monitoring package will provide customers with a service to help recognize problems prior to user complaints and restore configurations to minimize the disruptions associated with corrupted programming and hardware replacements.  These new services will be included in the UMP introduced above.
