A Robust Handset for Harsh Environments
Harsh environments demand high levels of product endurance and reliability. The Ascom d81 is a full-featured handset that fulfills that need. In our own punishing durability regiment, each handset must endure falls from two meters and withstand twice the voltage required to pass standard electromagnetic (EMC) safety certification. The IP65 classification which measures resistance to dust and water, is another testament to the resilience of the d81.

Unprecedented levels of functionality and superior voice quality combined with Bluetooth and a full range of accessories make the d81 the logical choice for high performance in punishing conditions. Customizable and easy to navigate, the menus of the d81 are part of one of the most attractive and intuitive user interfaces available today.

The phonebook of the d81 can store up to 750 unique numbers. Lists of dialed, answered and missed calls are easily viewed and navigated thanks to logical, colored icons. The user is automatically notified of missed calls and can dial the number with the push of a button. A Central phonebook, accessible to all system users, is also available.

Advanced alarm functions include a one-touch, manual alarm activated by a prominent red button, an automatic man-down alarm and a pull cord alarm. The alarm button may also be programmed to call and send and alarm simultaneously. Base station locationing technology allows the position of the alarm to be pinpointed with extreme accuracy — right down to a specific room. In an emergency, the location feature of the d81 can detect other staff members in close proximity and automatically message their handsets.

The functionality of the d81 handset can be enhanced through the application of additional licenses. d81 Messenger handsets, for example, may be upgraded to Protector functionality providing such as features as shared phone, DECT location and Bluetooth barcode reading capability.
