Ascom IP-DECT introduction
Any enterprise workplace can be enhanced by adding the Ascom IP-DECT system, which utilizes industry standard TDM and VoIP telephony interfaces to provide a fully integrated wireless communication platform. Seamless call handover and automatic roaming features ensure reliability for mobile users. This professional grade communication solution may be integrated with IP-PBXs via a direct SIP interface or with TDM PBX’s via Ascom VoIP Gateways.

IP-DECT access points
Ascom IP-DECT access points provide an easy way to add mobile voice services onto an existing wired LAN with low maintenance, zero-touch RF design wireless infrastructure. IP-DECT access points connect directly into any port on an existing wired LAN for transport back to the PBX switch.

IP-DECT Gateway with base stations
Providing a completely dedicated wired and wireless voice communication solution, the Ascom IP-DECT Gateway carries no dependency on the Ethernet packet data network. The IP-DECT Gateway works with Ascom base stations and the Ascom VoIP Gateway to seamlessly integrate with your PBX. Powered through the connection to the IP-DECT gateway, these small base stations provide coverage and capacity with two internal antennas and improved performance through diversity selection. Each base station contributes eight simultaneous speech channels and seamless roaming.

Wireless handsets
The IP-DECT system supports a highly versatile wireless handset portfolio that includes basic handsets for users with less complex demands to full featured professional communication tools. For volatile settings, Ascom also offers CSA approved handsets that feature enhanced mobile security applications for increased worker safety.

Unite Professional Messaging
The Ascom Unite Messaging Suite provides select Ascom handsets with two-way messaging, user originated data and mobile alarms. The message is instantly displayed allowing quick and accurate response.

Enterprise scalability, flexibility and simplicity
The IP-DECT system is extremely modular in design. Regardless of whether you’re operating a small business or a large, multi-site enterprise corporation with remote offices, Ascom provides the solution you need. With the multiple masters and load balancing architecture, the IP-DECT system can handle 1,000s of IP-DECT Gateways, 10,000s of IP-DECT access points and more than 100,000 handsets!  An entire Ascom system contains only a few simple plug and play components and with web-based administration, no specific software is needed. The combination of IP-DECT, centralized management and Ascom handsets enables software download and parameter settings Over-the-Air. This gives easy management a whole new meaning — offering administrators substantial benefits in time and efficiency.

Zero-touch RF
Continuous Dynamic Channel Selection (CDCS) is the core technology of the Ascom zero-touch RF system. CDCS is a full-time, automatic process used to select the most suitable high quality time and frequency access channel. CDCS optimizes the distribution of available channels per cell. Calls are seamlessly handed over from one channel to another within one cell, optimizing the received signal and eliminating the need for radio frequency planning.

Encryption
The Ascom IP-DECT system offers fully encrypted, authenticated communication and digital radio transport between the base station or access point and the portable handset, with a new encryption key used for each call.
